Service for Jo Ann Ellis Williams of Chilton will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Benson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Chilton, Texas. Burial will follow at Cedar Valley Cemetery.
JoAnn Williams- Ellis was born August 2, 1949 to Albert and Annie Williams in Waco, Texas. She grew up in the Chilton Community, educated at Fred Douglas and Chilton High School in Chilton, Texas and Wilson White High School in Rosebud, Texas. She united with Jude Tabernacle at an early age until Benson Memorial became her final place of worship. Her parents, two brothers and a special niece that she thought of as her first child proceeded her in death.
JoAnn Williams-Ellis held many titles in life. She loved the church and did what was needed of her as a faithful servant. She was a loving wife, sisters, friend and most of all MOM and MEMAW. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but kept it 100 with them. They knew she was the boss and they honored her. She was very funny and would keep you laughing, but if you got on her bad side she would give you a NUMBER ONE.
She went on to graduate from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas as a Substance Abuse Counselor. She worked for Phoenix House within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her Loving husband R.L. Ellis, Sr. of Temple, Texas; one daughter: Queenie Williams of Killeen, Texas and three sons Milton Hudlin (Holly) of Chilton, Texas, Chris Hudlin (wife) Snyder, Texas and Quincy Williams (Brietta) of Houston, Texas and a special granddaughter Shakeela Mumphrey (Kaleb) of Dallas, Texas, a sister who she loved dearly Patricia Keggins and dearest and loving brother-in-law Lonnie Odell Keggins of Chilton, Texas. A host of other grandchildren that she loved dearly, step children, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
