Graveside Service for Dennis Benard Roberts of Marlin, Texas will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Falls County Cemetery in Marlin. A Horse Drawn Procession will begin at 12:40 p.m. off Highway 6 South & County Road 220. Visitation for Dennis will be on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home for his family only. Masks are required. His public viewing will begin on Friday from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Masks are required. please enter through the Funeral Home Chapel Doors.
Dennis Benard Roberts was born on October 23, 1966 to parents Howard Roberts and Dorothy Harris Roberts. He was the youngest of eight children.
He attended public school in Dallas, Tx and graduated in 1985 from Marlin High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army. He served our country in the military for twelve years.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the Deacon Board, Brotherhood, and male choir.
On August 18, 1989 he married Lisa Johnson, they were married for twenty-six years. To this union two daughters were born, Austi J’vette Roberts and Damaya Deni Roberts.
Dennis was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System, where he ranked as sergeant. He continued his career working for Texas Youth Commission and the Veterans Administration Hospital in the police services until his health began to decline.
His passions were his daughters, the Dallas Cowboys, his church, and spending time with family.
He later met and married Jeania Medlock Roberts on February 14, 2019 and relocated to Mexia, Tx.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy Roberts; his brothers, Howard Roberts Jr and Henry (Stash) Adams Jr; his sisters Joyce Judie, Doris (Faye) McKnight, Glory (Buck) Williams, and Sharon (Diane) Williams; his nephews George McKnight Jr, Lawrence Williams, Damon Johnson, and Fred Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Jeania Roberts of Mexia,Tx; his daughters Austi Roberts and Damaya Roberts of Dallas, TX; his stepson Brodrick Brooks of Mexia,Tx; his only surviving sibling Mical Roberts (Shirley) of Picayune, MS; god children Tanashiyia White and Jailesiyia White of Fort Worth,Tx; a devoted niece Susej McKnight of Waco,Tx ; and a dedicated brother-in-law Larry Williams of Fort Worth, Tx. He was very close to his nieces and nephews. Special nephews are Trey Carter, Mical Roberts II, Lionel Williams, Leonard Williams, and Darius Tucker. Special nieces are Thelma Williams, Adoria Roberts, Kennielle McKnight, Kiarra Williams, Amadi Williams, and MicTavia Maxwell. Special cousins/friends are Ronnie (Earl) Butler and John (Jabo) Childers Jr. He also had a devoted mother figure Gloria Sparks and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
